How To Maintain PU Foaming Machines

The goal of equipment maintenance in the industrial industry is clear: to reduce expensive breakdowns and guarantee that your continuous foaming machine performs at its peak efficiency. However, a segment of the production community still sees maintenance as an unnecessary waste of production time. There are seldom enough hours in the day in a production facility to finish the work. Producing the parts as rapidly as possible to fulfil customer orders is the only option if they exist.

The element of surprise associated with machine failure is eliminated from the facility by ensuring the equipment is maintained correctly. Regular equipment maintenance and prompt replacement of old machine parts increase machine life and reduce the risk of rework or scrap products due to manufacturing materials outside specifications.

1. Air Pressure System Of PU Foaming Machines

Once a week, our equipment needs to be dewatered to keep the moving parts lubricated. Petroleum jelly can also be used to lubricate the measurement head and dispenser head frames. Remove the fuel tank vent valve once a month to clean the intake passageways and sealing components. Butter can also be applied inside for lubricating defence.

2. The Hydraulic System

The filter shouldn’t require frequent cleaning. Cleaning it every six months is possible. Every two cleanings, the filter needs to be replaced. Every six months, replace the hydraulic oil. Hydraulic oil or petroleum jelly are more options for lubrication. The hydraulic reversing valve and the oil tank’s interior mechanical components should be cleaned yearly while changing the new oil. A hydraulic diverter valve’s lifespan is roughly two years. This must be kept in mind.

3. The Raw Material System For PU Foaming

The dry air must be nitrogen to meet the raw material tank’s pressure requirements. Every year, we must remove the filter, clean the interior with methylene chloride and a copper brush, and then use DOP to remove any remaining methylene chloride from the filter paper. Seals for the white material variable pump are changed every two quarters, whereas seals for the black material variable pump are changed every three. Every six months, the measurement head and dispensing head’s O-rings should be changed.

4. PU Foaming Machine Mixing Techniques

The nozzle’s body should only be disassembled if there is a problem. Following maintenance, the nozzle head can be used constantly for about 500,000 injections.

5. Controlling PU Foaming Stagnation

There is no need for extensive control if it is within a week. When the machine starts up after a lengthy downtime, the feedstock must undergo a low-pressure cycle and, on occasion, a brief (10-second) high-pressure cycle (about 4 to 5 times).
